Then & Now: Monica & Jay

As a photographer, I get to be present at the very important events and intimate moments of peoples lives. I spend weddings days close to the bride and groom. I’m next to the bride in the quiet moments before she walks down the aisle. It’s a tremendous gift and privilege to be present with people in the moments their lives change in such wild ways. Today on the blog, this is the story of a couple’s life changing not once, but twice! Meet Monica & Jay! I shot their wedding at Walker’s Overlook back in Maryland nearly two years ago!wedding_photography_lifestyle_seattle_monica_jay-4wedding_photography_lifestyle_seattle_monica_jay-6wedding_photography_lifestyle_seattle_monica_jay-8wedding_photography_lifestyle_seattle_monica_jay-10Their wedding day was full of love, fun, and was a great celebration of who these two people are together. Their kindness and care for friends and families was so clear, it was special to be a part of it. wedding_photography_lifestyle_seattle_monica_jay-13wedding_photography_lifestyle_seattle_monica_jay-14Fast forward to now: Monica came to Seattle for a visit (unfortunately Jay had to stay in MD), and we worked in some time to for a shoot with their and new baby Brady! I love seeing her wedding images and newborn images right next to each other. Telling the stories in someone’s life, that’s what I love so much about my job.newborn_photography_seattle_monica_brady-7

I mean, look at those squishy baby cheeks!
